Benjamin S. Moore

Benjamin S. Moore is my first cousin five times removed; we are related through his grandparents, my fifth great grandparents Joseph S. and Olive (GILPATRICK) MOORE and through his grandparents, my fifth great grandparents Solomon I. and Christiana (SIMONTON) JORDAN.  He is the youngest of ten children born to Joshua Andrew and Elizabeth (JORDAN) MOORE.  Benjamin was born 11 March 1821 in Mariaville, Maine.  Benjamin married first Christina M. FOX 16 May 1852 in Waltham, Maine.  Benjamin and Christina had five children: Alvah, Benjamin Frank, John C., William Mercer and Annie M.  Benjamin signed the Civil War Draft registration 1 July 1863 in Mariaville, Maine.[1]  H was enumerated in the 1870 and 1880 censuses with his family in Mariaville.[2]   He married second Rosanna GRAY 14 October 1882 in Ellsworth, Maine.  Benjamin died 28 August 1883 in Mariaville.
