Wellington Robert Haire

Wellington Robert HAIRE is my first cousin four times removed; we are related through his grandparents William and Alice (BROWN) HAIRE.  Wellington was born 31 July 1863,[1] in Huntingdon, Québec, to Thomas and Margaret Agnes (ALEXANDER) HAIRE; he was the older of two children.  He was baptized 26 December 1863 in Huntingdon, Québec; minister was Alfred ANDREWS, witnesses were Anthony WHYTE and Margaret A. HAIRE.  In the 1870 U.S. census it shows him and his family living in Colfax, Missouri,[2] in 1881 they are back in Canada, living in Huntingdon, Québec.[3]  I am finding no records of him after the age of 18, so either he died, or changed the name he used, or moved back to Ireland where his parents emigrated from.

Joseph Alcock

Joseph ALCOCK is my eighth great grand uncle; we are related through his parents, John and Elizabeth (BIRCHARD) ALCOCK.  Joseph was born about 1634 in Kittery, Maine, the third of eight children.[1]  Joseph along with others signed “articles of submission” 22 November 1652 in York, Maine at the home of Nicholas DAVIS.[2]  Joseph married Abigail PAUL daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth PAUL, before 1659 in Kittery, Maine.[3]  Joseph and Abigail had at least three children:  John, Mary and Samuel, though there is some speculation that Samuel may not be his son, but the son of another Joseph ALCOCK in the same area.  He served as a Sergeant in the military outfit in Kittery, Maine.  Joseph died 30 July 1676 in Kittery, Maine.
