Mary Augusta Whittaker

Mary Augusta WHITTAKER is my first cousin five times removed; we are related through her grandparents, my fifth great grandparents; Solomon I. and Christiana (SIMONTON) JORDAN.  Mary was born to Captain John and Christiana (JORDAN) WHITTAKER, 16 September 1814 in possibly Massachusetts, but more likely Ellsworth, Maine.[1]  Mary married my second cousin five times removed, though they are unrelated, Dyer Peters JORDAN.  They married 4 March 1841 in Ellsworth, Maine; their marriage was officiated by Rev. Allen Barrow.  No children were ever listed with the family in the 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses; therefore I believe they were a childless couple; Mary and Dyer were enumerated in all censuses in Hancock County, Maine.[2]   Mary died 2 Jun 1888 at age 73; she is buried at Bayside Cemetery in Ellsworth.[3]
