Jacob ABBOTT

Jacob is my fourth cousin six times removed through John and Lia (BLOTT) GREENE, his third great grandparents, my ninth great grandparents.

Jacob ABBOT was born 11 April 1774 in Winslow, Kennebec, ME.[1]  He is the son of Stephen and Elizabeth (SCRUTON) ABBOT.  He died 3 September 1813 in Winslow, Kennebec, ME.  He is interred at Gowen Family Burial Ground #11 in Winslow, Kennebec, ME.[2]  Jacob married Dorcas LIBBY in 1802.[3]  Dorcas was born 7 April 1780 in Lebanon, York, ME.[4]  She is the daughter of Benjamin and Polly (HEARL) LIBBY.  She died 10 March 1854 in Winslow, Kennebec, ME.  She is interred at Gowen Family Burial Ground #11 in Winslow, Kennebec, ME.

Jacob and Dorcas had the following children:

  1. Dorcas was born 4 May 1804 in Winslow, Kennebec, ME.[5] She died 4 March 1887 in Caribou, Aroostook, ME.  She is interred at Evergreen Cemetery in Caribou, Aroostook, ME.[6]  Dorcas married Ivory HARDISON 23 October 1822 in China, Kennebec, ME.[7]  Ivory was born in 1798 in China, Kennebec, ME.[8]  He is the son of Joseph and Betsey (HEARL) HARDISON.  He died 11 May 1875 in Caribou, Aroostook, ME.  He is interred at Evergreen Cemetery in Caribou, Aroostook, ME.[9]
  2. Jacob was born 29 March 1806 in Winslow, Kennebec, ME.[10] He died 26 February 1881 in Milltown, Washington, ME.  He is interred at Calais Cemetery in Calais, Washington, ME.[11]  Jacob married Sarah A.  Sarah was born about 1811 in England.  She died 27 November 1851 in Cedar, Washington, ME.
  3. Anna was born 16 June 1807 in Winslow, Kennebec, ME.[12] She died 26 February 1887 in Winslow, Kennebec, ME.  She is interred at Gowen Family Burial Ground #11 in Winslow, Kennebec, ME.[13]  Anna married George GOWEN 19 January 1828 in Lebanon, York, ME.[14]  George was born 6 February 1807 in Winslow, Kennebec, ME.  He is the son of William and Abigail (MOORE) GOWEN.  He died 7 December 1864 in Winslow, Kennebec, ME.
  4. Oliver L. was born 21 May 1809 in Winslow, Kennebec, ME.[15] He died 24 March 1899.  He is interred at Abbott Cemetery in Albion, Kennebec, ME.[16]  Oliver married Camilla S. LEWIS 18 November 1830 in China, Kennebec, ME.[17]  Camilla was born 9 July 1813 in Albion, Kennebec, ME.  She was the daughter of Samuel and Betsey (TAYLOR) LEWIS.  She died 23 March 1892.  Her body is interred at the Abbott Cemetery in Albion, Kennebec, ME.[18]
  5. Belinda was born 23 January 1811 in Winslow, Kennebec, ME.[19] She died July 1849.  She married twice.  She married Mr. MATTHEWS.  She married William H. COLLINS 28 October 1829 in Vassalboro, Kennebec, ME.[20]  Nothing is known of Mr. MATTHEWS.  William Collins was born 1807.
