Solomon B. MESERVE

Solomon is my third cousin five times removed; we are related through Dominicus and Hannah (TRISTRAM) JORDAN.  He is the son of Solomon and Arabella J. (JORDAN) MESERVE.  Solomon and Parmelia were first cousins once removed through Daniel and Mehitable (BRAGDON) MESERVE.  Solomon and his family were enumerated in the 1840, 1850 and 1870 censuses taken in Machias, Washington, Maine.[1]  He was listed as a farmer in both the 1850 and 1870 censuses.  This family was hard to find anything of the children.  I found that son George served in the Civil War and that son Solomon Lewis married, but that is all I could find other than burial information on most of the children.[2]

Solomon B. MESERVE was born 30 April 1798 in Machias, Washington, Maine.  He died 23 May 1875 in Machias, Washington, Maine.[3]  He was interred at Meserve Cemetery in Machias, Washington, Maine.[4]

Solomon married Parmelia MESERVE 27 November 1823 in Machias, Washington, Maine[5].  Parmelia was born 20 December 1802 in Machias, Washington, Maine.[6]  She was the daughter of Joseph Libbee and Elizabeth B. (BURNHAM) MESERVE.  She died April 1888 in Machias, Washington, Maine.  She was interred at Meserve Cemetery in Machias, Washington, Maine.[7]

Solomon and Parmelia had the following children:

  1. Elizabeth F. MESERVE was born 1827.  She died unmarried in 1851.  She was interred at Meserve Cemetery in Machias, Washington, Maine.[8]
  2. Sarah A. MESERVE was born 1832.
  3. Leonard MESERVE was born 1836. He died 19 December 1866 in Steilacoom, Washington.
  4. George F. MESERVE was born 1838. He died 1873 in Machias, Washington, Maine.  He is interred at Meserve Cemetery in Machias, Washington, Maine.[9]
  5. Solomon Lewis MESERVE was born 1845 in Maine. He married Lizzie E.
  6. Leonora B. MESERVE was born 1849. She died 1851.  She is interred at Meserve Cemetery in Machias, Washington, Maine.[10]
