Gardner JORDAN

Gardner is my fourth cousin four times removed through his third great grandparents, Dominicus and Hannah (TRISTRAM), my seventh great grandparents.  He is also my fifth cousin four times removed through his fourth great grandparents, Reverend Robert and Sarah (WINTER) JORDAN, my eighth great grandparents.  Gardner and family were enumerated in the 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses taken in Portland, Cumberland, ME.

Gardner JORDAN was born 11 April 1818 in Portland, Cumberland, ME.[1]  He died of a disease of the heart on 23 February 1883 in Portland, Cumberland, ME.[2]  He is interred at Evergreen Cemetery in Portland, Cumberland, ME.[3]  He married first Hannah RACKLEFF in 28 November 1839 in Portland, Cumberland, ME.[4]  Hannah was born 31 December 1822 in Boothbay, Lincoln, ME.  She was the daughter of Charles and Lois (DREW) RACKLEFF.  He married second to Harriet Frances QUIMBY 1 September 1857 in Lynn, Essex, MA.[5]  Harriet died 13 April 1909.  She is interred at Evergreen Cemetery in Portland, Cumberland, ME.[6]

Gardner and Hannah had the following children:

  1. Harriet Augusta was born 6 September 1840 in Portland, Cumberland, ME.[7] She died of consumption 28 May 1852 in Portland, Cumberland, ME.[8]
  2. Son born 25 July 1842 in Portland, Cumberland, ME. He died at age 1 day of “infantile” 26 July 1842 in Portland, Cumberland, ME.[9]
  3. Cornelia was born 1849 in Portland, Cumberland, ME. She died of consumption 11 September 1856 in Portland, Cumberland, ME.[10]
