Theophil Hallström (Thomas Hiller) Johansson

Theophil Hallstrom JOHANSSON Americanized name of Thomas HILLER, is my great grand uncle, we are related through his parents Jan Petter (Johan) JOHANSSON and Carolina HALLSTRÖM.  He was their ninth child of ten children, born 19 August 1875 in Tärna, Sweden.  He was accounted for in the Swedish Husförhör [catechetical] five records (5 years per record).[1]   He applied for a homestead in Melville, Montana 19 June 1908.  He married 11 November 1912 to Jorena LENDE SONDRESS in Livingstone, Montana.[2]  They had two children:  Carolyn Rachel and Harold Victor.  By 1920 he and Jorena had divorced.  Thomas is counted in the 1920 census in Sweet Grass County, Montana, working as a farm hand.[3]  He was enumerated in the 1930 census in Golden Valley Montana with his Brother Albert’s family as Theophit.[4]  He died 1 March 1940 near Lake Sawyer, Washington.[5]  He was a challenge to track him many names throughout his life and the combinations of the names at times were: Theofit/Theofil Hiller, Thomas Hiller, Theofil/Theofil Hallström, Thomas Hallström, and at times Theofil Johansson.  Due to this combination of names I might have missed a few records he produced.
