Abigail KIMBALL

Abigail is my third cousin five times removed; we are related through Thomas and Margaret (MEANS) GILPATRICK, my seventh great grandmother.  Abigail and her husband Tristram were enumerated in the 1880 census in Raritan Township, East New Brunswick, Middlesex, NJ.[1]  Abigail and her family moved many times.  They lived in Bangor and Passadumkeag, ME while her husband worked in the government and lumber business.[2]  They lived at 78 Street in Boston, Suffolk, MA.[3]  They then lived in Brooklyn, Kings, NY.[4]  They then lived in Harlem, NY.[5] They then moved to New Jersey living in Metuchen and Raritan Township.[6]  Abigail’s husband Tristram was the author of The Jordan Memorial, a book that to this day is used as a great source of Jordan family ancestry.[7]

Abigail KIMBALL was born 12 April 1812 in Kennebunk, York, ME.[8]  She was the daughter of James and Sarah (KIMBALL) KIMBALL.  She died 18 May 1888 in Raritan Township, Somerset, NJ.[9]  She is interred in Cambridge, Washington, NY.[10]  Abigail married Tristram Frost JORDAN 6 October 1831 in Kennebunkport, York, ME.[11]  Tristram was born 30 September 1804 in Hollis, York, ME.[12]  He was the son of Joseph and Mary (LEIGHTON) JORDAN.  Tristram is my third cousin five times removed.  Abigail and Tristram are not related by blood.  He died 12 October 1890 in Metuchen, Middlesex, NJ.[13]
