Priscilla Smith JELLISON

Priscilla is my first cousin four times removed.  We are related through her grandparents Joseph H. and Abigail “Nabby” (JORDAN) JELLISON, my fourth great grandparents.  She is also my sixth cousin seven times removed through her fifth great grandparents, John and Elizabeth (BIRCHARD) ALCOCK, my ninth and twelfth great grandparents.  Priscilla was enumerated with her parents in the 1850 census taken in Mariaville, Hancock, ME.[1]  Priscilla and Luther were enumerated in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses in Surry, Hancock, ME.[2]

Priscilla Smith JELLISON was born 9 March 1835 in Mariaville, Hancock, ME.  She is the daughter of Deacon Reuben and Eliza T. (SMITH) JELLISON.  She died 21 February 1884 in Surry, Hancock, ME.  Priscilla married Luther LORD 3 August 1856 in Mariaville, Hancock, ME.  Luther was born 3 September 1817 in Surry, Hancock, ME.  He is the son of Isaac and Abagail Tarbox (MOORE) LORD.  Luther died 3 December 1883 in Surry, Hancock, ME.

Priscilla and Luther had the following children:

  1. Edgar Irving born 26 October 1857 in East Surry, Hancock, ME.[3] Edgar married Carrie L. CARPENTER in 1882 in Trenton, Hancock, ME.
  2. Reuben Jellison born 5 July 1859 in East Surry, Hancock, ME.[4] He died 29 May 1928 in Eugene, Lane, OR.  He is interred at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene, Lane, OR.[5]  Reuben married Julia Marilla MAYO 14 October 1882 in Mount Desert, Hancock, ME.  Julia was born in June 1862 in Bar Harbor, Hancock, ME.  She is the daughter of Thomas and Lydia (SMITH) MAYO.  Julia died 12 November 1940 in Florence, Lane, OR.
  3. Isaac Hamilton born 28 September 1861 in East Surry, Hancock, ME.[6] He died 15 June 1888 in Surry, Hancock, ME.
  4. Abbie Eliza born 19 February 1864 in East Surry, Hancock, ME.[7] Abbie died in 1930 in Hancock, Hancock, ME.  She married Stephen H. LELAND 25 November 1903 in Lamoine, Hancock, ME.[8]  Stephen was born in 1853.  He was the son of Daniel and Jane C. (HODGSON) LELAND.  Stephen died in 1942.  He is interred at East Lamoine Cemetery in East Lamoine, Hancock, ME.[9]
  5. Martin Luther born 28 March 1866 in East Surry, Hancock, ME.[10] He died 5 August 1914.  He married Rebecca M. CRABTREE in Jun 1888.
  6. Clara Estelle born 13 January 1868 in East Surry, Hancock, ME.[11] She died in 1928 in Southwest Harbor, Hancock, ME.
  7. Maurice Selden born 25 September 1870 in East Surry, Hancock, ME.[12] He died 27 November 1935.  Maurice is interred at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene, Lane, OR.[13]  He married Mary J. FRASER 4 June 1903 in Columbus, Yellowstone, MT.[14]  Mary was born 3 September 1866.  Mary is the daughter of Charles and Mary (LYLE) FRASER.  She died 1 March 1952.  She is interred at Rest-Haven Memorial Park, Eugene, Lane, OR.[15]
