Harriette THOMPSON

Harriette THOMPSON is my fifth cousin four times removed, we are related through Reverend Robert and Sarah (WINTER) JORDAN.  She worked as a teacher at a common school in Little River Village (Lisbon), Androscoggin, Maine in 1860.[1]  She was enumerated with her parents in the 1850 and 1860 censuses taken in Lisbon, Androscoggin, Maine.[2]  She was enumerated with her husband Joseph T. HEALEY in Fall River, Bristol, Massachusetts in 1870 and 1880.[3]  She and her husband lived at 68 Globe Street and 217 Globe Street in Fall River, Bristol, Massachusetts.[4]  Joseph was a rather prominent man in the Fall River area.  He worked as a treasurer for the Osborn Mill, as a police commissioner and treasurer of both the Citizen’s Savings Bank and the Pocasset National Bank.[5]

Harriette THOMPSON was born 18 December 1832 in Bowdoin, Sagadahoc, Maine.[6]  She was the daughter of Cornelius and Abigail (SLYVESTER) THOMPSON.  She died 19 July 1899 of carcinoma in Fall River, Bristol, Massachusetts at her home 217 Glove Street.[7]  She was interred at Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River, Bristol, Massachusetts.[8]  Harriette married Joseph T. HEALEY 26 April 1828 in Lisbon, Androscoggin, Maine.[9]  Joseph was born 27 January 1828 in Fall River, Bristol, Massachusetts, though some records state he was born in Rhode Island.[10]  He was the son of David and Meribah (HATHAWAY) HEALEY.  He died 21 January 1901 in Fall River, Bristol, Massachusetts at his home 217 Globe Street.[11]  He is interred at Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River, Bristol, Massachusetts.[12]  There were no children from this marriage.

Elizabeth BUTLER

Elizabeth is my fourth cousin six times removed.  We are related through John and Lia (BLOTT) GREENE, my ninth great grandmother.  Elizabeth is quoted saying: “I shall be eighty two years old the seventeenth day of next December.  I can spin ten skeins of yarn in a day, by the light of the sun.  I am now weaving six yards of cloth five quarters wide, daily.  When I was eighty years of age I spun, in ten months, four hundred and thirty-three skeins of yarn, and wove five hundred and twenty-five yards of cloth.”[1]

Abigail SYLVESTER

Abigail is my fourth cousin five times removed; we are related through her third great grandparents, my eighth great grandparents Reverend Robert and Sarah (WINTER) JORDAN.  Abigail and Cornelius were enumerated in Lisbon, Lincoln, ME in the 1850 census.[1]  Abigail and her children along with a Henry a son from Cornelius’ first wife were enumerated in the 1860 census in Little River Village of Lisbon, Androscoggin, ME.[2]  The 1870 census finds Abigail still living with Henry (he is now listed as head of the family), her daughter Sarah and her husband Abram and daughter Carrie in Lisbon Falls, Lisbon, Androscoggin, ME.[3]  Abigail’s last census taken in 1880 in Lisbon, Androscoggin, ME found her living with her widowed daughter Martha COX and her children.[4]

Abigail SLYVESTER was born 4 May 1795 in Freeport, Cumberland, ME or Bowdoin, Sagadahoc, ME; the records show the same date, just two different locations have records.[5]  She was the daughter of Barstow and Rosannah (JORDAN) SYLVESTER.  She died 11 April 1885 in Lisbon, Androscoggin, ME.[6]  She was interred at West Bowdoin Cemetery in West Bowdoin, Sagadahoc, ME.[7]  Abigail married Cornelius THOMPSON 14 March 1832.[8]  Cornelius was born 18 April 1791 in Lewiston, Androscoggin, ME.[9]  Cornelius was the son of Joel and Martha (COTTON) THOMPSON.  He died 15 November 1857 in Lisbon, Androscoggin, ME.[10]  Cornelius was interred at West Bowdoin Cemetery in West Bowdoin, Sagadahoc, ME.[11]

Abigail and Cornelius had the following children:

  1. Harriette was born 18 December 1832 in Lisbon, Androscoggin, ME. She died 19 July 1899 of a carcinoma in Fall River, Bristol, MA.[12]  She is interred at Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River, Bristol, MA.[13]  Harriette married Joseph T. HEALEY 26 April 1863 in Lisbon, Androscoggin, ME.[14]  Joseph was born 27 January 1828 in Fall River, Bristol, MA.  He was the son of David and Meribah (HATHAWAY) HEALEY.  Joseph died 21 January 1901.  He is interred at Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River, Bristol, MA.[15]
  2. Martha was born 3 July 1835 in Lisbon, Androscoggin, ME. She died 22 March 1712.  She is interred at West Bowdoin Cemetery in West Bowdoin, Sagadahoc, ME.[16]  Martha married Cyrus Bede COX 18 January 1862 in Lisbon, Androscoggin, ME.[17]  He was born 7 May 1815 in Bowdoin, Sagadahoc, ME.  Cyrus is the son of Isaac and Desire COX.  He died 22 April 1876 in Bowdoin, Sagadahoc, ME.  He is interred at West Bowdoin Cemetery in West Bowdoin, Sagadahoc, ME.[18]
  3. Sarah was born 26 June 1837 in Lisbon, Androscoggin, ME.[19] She married Captain Abram HEALEY about 1863.  Abram was born about 1836 in ME.
